How to resize your photo and signature for online exam forms

Oktubre 22, 2026 · 1 min read · Team

Most online application forms ask for a photo and a signature in a very specific size, for example 200×230 pixels between 20 and 50 KB. If the file is even slightly too big or too small, the upload fails. You do not need any software to fix this.

1. Read the rules in your notification

Every exam publishes its own sizes. Note three things: the dimensions (pixels or centimetres), the file size range (KB) and the format (almost always JPG).

2. Use the Exam Photo & Signature Resizer

Open the Exam Photo & Signature Resizer, choose a preset such as "Bank exam photo" or pick Custom and type the exact pixels and KB limits from your notification. The tool crops to the right shape, cleans the background of signatures and keeps the file inside the allowed KB range.

3. Only need a smaller file?

If the size in pixels does not matter, Resize Image to KB makes any photo smaller than 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB while keeping it as sharp as possible.

Tips for a photo that gets accepted

  • Use a plain light background and face the camera.
  • Sign with a black pen on white paper and photograph it in daylight.
  • Do not apply filters; examiners may reject edited photos.
